Context

Millions worldwide live with undetected high blood pressure and atrial fibrillation due to the friction of traditional monitoring. Samsung Health Monitor was designed to bridge this gap, transforming the smartwatch into a medical-grade preventative tool. Our goal was to make ECG and blood pressure tracking accessible, turning a wearable into a vital health ally.

Approach

The strategy focused on "measure, review, and share" to empower user health management. We integrated innovative smartwatch technology into a streamlined mobile experience. Through extensive human-factors testing, we refined UX to be clear, ensuring that complex medical data remained easy to interpret and share with healthcare providers.

Outcome

Launched in 2020, the Samsung Health Monitor successfully transitioned from concept to a globally validated medical tool, securing clearances from the U.S. FDA, South Korea’s MFDS, and Brazil’s Anvisa. The project was honored with an iF Design Award, proving that clinical rigor and world-class user experience can coexist. Today, the app empowers hundreds of millions to proactively manage their long-term health with confidence.
